THE SUMMIT

Stranded is a digital media outlet that creates editorial content around the voices of innovators in hair and beauty. We started Stranded to focus on the passionate artists we met backstage at photo shoots and during Fashion Week. NYC may be the fashion capital of the world, but it would be an ugly capital without the flurry of brushes and bristles that happens minutes before every runway show. At Stranded, these transformations are the real focus–not just of Fashion Week, but of every week. Straight from the artists that find and define the next frontier of the beauty industry.

In October of 2014 Stranded will host a two-day education summit at MILK Studios, one of the world’s leading photography studios, in New York City. Stranded Summit ’14 will be an intimate gathering of progressive hairstylists, who will mingle with industry leaders and enjoy some of the best education, food, and entertainment NYC has to offer.

On Day 1, Celebrity Stylist Ted Gibson will deliver will deliver a keynote speech followed by a demonstration by label.m Professional Haircare, speaking panels with some of America’s most celebrated stylists and courses on effective marketing and social media tools for building your business. For Day 2, hairstylists and educators will participate in look-and-learn workshops ranging from advanced styling and cutting techniques to the latest in hair color and best practices in editorial campaigns.

We’ll offer complimentary breakfast, lunch, beverages, high-speed Internet, and mobile phone charging stations. Each day will end with a cocktail reception, where some of our favorite DJ’s will be spinning. You’ll leave our summit with renewed creative energy and fresh ideas to keep your art—and your business—at the cutting edge.
